Acrow Bridge’s Eugene Sobecki Speaks at Inaugural Military Support Week in London

Presentation discussed ‘Panel Bridge Technology: Meeting Tomorrow’s Challenges Today’

(Parsippany, New Jersey) – 14 March 2018 – Eugene Sobecki, Director – National Sales and Military Business Development at Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, was a featured speaker at the inaugural Military Support Week in London. The event was co-located with Military Engineering 2018 and Defence Supply Chain and Logistics 2018 and ran from February 27 through March 1.

Sobecki’s presentation “Panel Bridge Technology: Meeting Tomorrow’s Challenges Today” provided an analysis of current requirements  and product compliance, assembly methods and installation, examples of various applications of panel bridges, and military-specific case studies, including Acrow’s recent work in Mosul, Iraq on a 240-meter Wet Gap Bridge and recent supply of 80- and 90-meter clear span bridges to support the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve military action. These bridges are capable of handling the extreme weights imposed by military vehicles and tanks.

“In many cases, the success of combat as well as peacekeeping operations and humanitarian relief efforts depends on the military’s ability to deploy rapidly in a variety of environments,” said Sobecki. “Acrow’s modular steel bridges are designed to military standards and capable of supporting heavy vehicles under a variety of conditions. They are ideal for addressing time-sensitive infrastructure needs, and components can be quickly transported, assembled, and reused wherever they are needed.”

Combat Support Week provided senior military logisticians and engineers with strategies to enable mission support and rapid deployment in a variety of environments. The event was chaired by General Sir Peter Wall, Former Chief of the General Staff of the British Army (2011-2014). Attendees were from Germany, the U.S.A., the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Canada, Belgium, Greece, the Czech Republic, Austria, Ireland, Hungary, Romania and Norway, among others.
