Acrow Bridge Employees Share the Joy of the Holiday Season with Area Residents

8th annual project brings cheer to Morris County families and seniors in need

(Parsippany, New Jersey) – 26 December, 2019 – Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, noted today that its employees once more observed the spirit of the holiday season by providing gifts to families and seniors  in need throughout Morris County. The six week long project culminated with an employee event to wrap the gifts at Acrow’s headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey on December 11.

Co-sponsored this year by Morristown Beautiful and the Daily Record, Operation Holiday has helped to lift the spirits and fortunes of countless underprivileged area residents through gifts and essentials during the holiday season. Since 1971, the nonprofit has raised more than $3.2 million, which has come from hundreds of donors, and has been used to purchase basic necessities as well as “gift list” items for residents referred to the program by numerous social service agencies.  In 2018 alone, the program received more than $81,000 in monetary donations. In addition, more than 100 companies, civic groups, families and individuals “adopted” residents to provide new requested gifts.

This year, Acrow took on the wish lists of seven children and four senior citizens. Once the assignment was accepted, Acrow was responsible for fulfilling the wish lists and wrapping, tagging and sorting the gifts which included toys, games, clothing and winter wear as well as grocery gift certificates for the three mothers of the children. As in years past, the Acrow team successfully rose to the challenge.

“We are so happy to have been involved again in this worthwhile project that allows us to give back to the community and to know our contributions will make someone’s holiday brighter,” said Gina Wierzbinski, Acrow Operations Administrator and one of the event organizers.

“It’s wonderful to see the enthusiasm of the Acrow Team.” added Bill Killeen, CEO of Acrow Bridge. “Our participation in Operation Holiday has been a wonderful tradition for nearly 10 years and It is truly an honor to work with fellow Team members who open their hearts to all and particularly to those facing challenges throughout the year.”
