Acrow Bridge Conducts Training with Military Engineers from the British Army

Continues Acrow’s commitment to addressing the needs of military forces worldwide

(Parsippany, New Jersey) – 07 November 2017 – Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, today announced it is currently training British Army military engineers on the Acrow Panel Line of Communication Bridge, which is being used by the Combined Joint Task Force Group  (CJTF) in Iraq and Syria for Operation Inherent Resolve. The 20 Royal Engineers, who are members of the 8th Engineer Brigade 25th (CS) Engineering Group, required training on the Acrow system prior to deployment to Iraq, where they will assist the Iraqi Military Engineers in rebuilding key infrastructure there. The training is taking place at Acrow’s facility in Lafayette, New Jersey and will conclude on November 9.

While Acrow has trained military engineers from around the globe, Acrow’s Vice President of Engineering Scott Patterson was able to tailor the training to the requirements of the Royal Engineers. The two-week program is a balanced mixture of classroom and hands on training. Under the guidance of Acrow’s lead trainer, Lennox Duggan, CSM U.S. Army (Ret), the engineers will build and launch a 120′-long bridge and then delaunch and dismantle the structure. Other Acrow personnel assisting in the training are Eugene Sobecki, National Sales Manager, and Military Sales and Marketing Manager, LTC Steve Danner U.S. Army (Ret).

“The Acrow 700XS bridge system has been selected as a standard Line of Communication Bridge for logistical support by military organizations around the world, including the U.S. Army, the Canadian Army, the Australian Defence Force, the National Army of Colombia, the Chilean Army, the Israeli Defense Forces, the Indonesian Army and United Nations Peacekeeping operations,” said Sobecki. “Used all over the world, Acrow bridges are capable of supporting large armored tanks and other heavy vehicles under a variety of conditions. They are durable and easy to maintain, and the components are easily transported and reused wherever a temporary or permanent bridge is needed. Designed for fast assembly and disassembly, the Acrow modular bridging solution is a portable system that can be used over and over again by military organizations on the move.”
